Record Sales of £85,000 for Oxford franchisee in October 08

Despite all the talk of recession, our franchisees’ businesses are thriving. The current economic climate, and its affect on the housing market, has lead to people staying put and refurbishing their homes instead of moving house. That means we have seen a strong demand for both new kitchens/bedrooms and for refurbishments. The idea of retaining the existing carcasses and “transforming” an existing kitchen by adding new doors, worktops and/or appliances is particularly appealing in the current climate because customers want to avoid unnecessary expense – a “transformation” can save them up to 70% of the cost of a new kitchen.

Andy and Kathy Vincent, who own the Oxford franchise, started trading in October 2004. In their first full financial year (to 31.3.08) they turned over £430,000, the most any KABT franchisee has achieved in a first year. In October 2008 they moved from their first, small showroom into significantly larger premises in Abingdon and this has coincided with their record monthly sales of £85,000.
